I&P Conseil is a fund manager company based in France. It manages impact investment vehicles which invest in medium-sized growing businesses and microfinance institution. I&P’s mission is to contribute to the development of an enduring and efficient private sector and strengthen the economic fabric in Western and Central Africa and to spur local economic, social and environmental impact
I&P began its operation in 2002 , with the inception of I&P Developpement (www.ip-dev.com), an investment company with an equity of EUR 20 million and has invested in more than 30 companies and microfinance institutions, mostly in French speaking Africa (Senegal, Cameroon, Mali, Niger, Benin, Ivory Coast…). I&P invests as a minority shareholder, in strong partnership with local entrepreneurs. I&P Developpement has developed a generalist investment approach, and strong track record in the health, agro and construction related businesses.
I&P Conseil is currently closing a EUR 50 million investment fund, I&P Afrique Entrepreneur that will keep the same investment philosophy (minority stake, investment below EUR 1 million in average)
Job Description:
Under the supervision of an Investment Director based in Accra and in direct contact with target companies’ management, you will participate with an increasing autonomy in each steps of the investment cycle. You main tasks will be to :
Contribute to generate a qualified deal flow in Ghana, and possibly in Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso
Undertake pre-investment analysis and due diligence:
· collect financial and market data in view of investment opportunities;
· analyze business and financial opportunities in regard with targeted companies;
· participate in due diligences and set up business plans;
· participate to the elaboration of investment memos and reporting memos on existing investments
Contribute to negotiate and structure investment deals
Monitor investments, in close relationship the investee’s management and report financial and ESG performances
Contribute to exit process
The job will be based in Accra, with possible trips to Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast and regular trips to France.
Preferred Qualifications:
You combine good financial and analytical skills, a strong entrepreneurial spirit and excellent interpersonal skills. You are energetic and tenacious, you share I&P’s vision and you are motivated both by financial and developmental returns. You are looking for a long term challenge, and willing to live in a long term perspective in Ghana or neighboring countries. Additionally we are looking for the following attributes:
At least 3 to 5 years experience in finance, business development/strategy, or related areas. Exposure to entrepreneurship, medium-sized businesses will be considered as a strong asset. Individuals with experience in private equity or SME financing are strongly encouraged to apply.
Advanced degree in Finance and/or Management
Fluency in English is a must. Good notions of French will be a plus.
Good knowledge of the West African environment is required

The West Africa Director will launch Acumen Fund’s social impact portfolio in West Africa. S/he will oversee the development of investment portfolios as well as being responsible for leading a team and managing a large community of supporters, advisers and funders that transcend national boundaries, with the aim of bringing about real change in West Africa.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in investment, finance, business development, strategy or operations. S/he will have excellent financial, analytical and managerial skills, as well as experience in building, managing and motivating teams. This role will not appeal to the mercenary, the cynical or the faint-hearted.
